Don't let your competition know!! OK, to be honest, I guess every competitive ball player should KNOW. This is a great bat!! Hard hitting, pop off this one. Sometimes line drives, lacing directly to outfielders (if I used any other bat, would be a base hit, dropping, lazy, in front of fielders). Am I complaining? NO, absolutely not! Because the ones I hit in the gap, doubles and triples!! So yes, everything I heard about this bat is true. More "sweetspot" coverage (because it is all sweet). A miss is still a hard hit ball. I don't think I'll need to use the 5 month warranty, owned my MacDougall for 3 weeks and so far 7 for 10 in adult Vegas, weekend league play (yes, we play all year round).
Bottom line, I Love It and really don't know if I would buy another brand. I'd rather pay $200 to have a hard hitting, solid bat, then pay $120 4 times in an 18 month period (all relative to how much you play). I have a 2 weekend Vegas tournament coming up in March. I cant wait to drill a few...my only hope, the opossing team players aren't using MacDougalls!!
Bought this bat for myself to use in our amateur league. Can’t wait to get into the cages in a couple months to try it out. It’s truly a masterpiece of craftsmanship, almost don’t want to use it since it looks so amazing.
Everything that is promised, is delivered. Great bat, great communication, great experience.
Received in timely matter and really like the professional look of the bat . Have not used yet but looking forward to it . Dave Wardell
We bought this for our son who plays in 16U. He swung a BaumBat over the summer and it fell apart. This bat has more "Pop" and a much better feeling swing. And its the best looking bat you can buy!!! (in our opinion).
Have only had 2 opportunities to use the bat and my son says it feels great (solid)
My son has been training for varsity for a month now and the MacDougall bat has exceeded our expectations. He used a birch bat last year that had a distinctive sound but every cage we go to we get the same reaction - hey, uh , that bat sounds great! What is it? The ball rockets of the barrel and he swings it smooth and easy. Thanks guys for all your time and effort to make a superior product!
If feels so great in my hands, power, performance, awesome design and it is a work of art.... absolute satisfaction! Well done MacDougall!
Absolutely LOVE this bat. The looks are awesome, and so is the performance. Really like the look of the tanoak on the barrel. Great job MacDougall!
After an email discussion with MacDougall, my son switched to the B-52 model for the slight end weighted design. Right out of the box the feel was on the money. Two cages sessions has validated that the B-52 is another winner from MacDougall. This is our 3rd bat as my sons grow out of and into a new model. Once again, you can only go RIGHT with a Powerwood purchase.
1st problem was convincing myself to actually hit a ball with this masterpiece of craftsmanship. Simply the most beautiful wooden bat I've ever seen. At 14 I've only hit with a few other wooden bats( busted a friends wooden (different brand) bat the very first swing.... Oops!) so far I'm enjoying this bat and it has exceeded ALL expectations. I LOVE THIS BAT.... But, it's so pretty it's almost hard to use it. GREAT JOB TO YOUR ENTIRE TEAM AND THANKS FOR AN AWESOME PRODUCT AND SERVICE.
GREAT! Yes, it is...I bought this for my 35+ Men's Senior League. I have never held one, or taken a swing with one. I figured I'd just try it and see what all the hype was about and to see if the bat was worth it? (With a 5 mo. guarantee, I was hoping it would do better than my teammates bats which keep cracking and breaking) Well, I was extremely surprised how well made and crafted this bat seems to be. I actually hated to hit with it since it looked so nice. (comes with a cool little velvet bag too) In my first BP session - it was solid! It had great feel and balance. (I bought a 33.5 M-10 model) Everyone remarked how good the bat sounded and how the balls I was hitting seemed to jump off the bat in comparison to a lot of the Maple bats they were using. The bat is a little on the meaty side and some folks think it's a bit heavy. (But I'm 6'2 - 235lbs. and it swings easily for me.) I feel like I can get good whip out of it, and it feels awesome in the sweet spot! If you hit a little low on the handle or up on the end, it's still quite solid and more forgiving than other bats I've tried. I've been through 5 BP sessions and a scrimmage game....(regular season starts in Fall) So far...this bat is extremely durable feeling and I know with the pitching I've seen up till now, it will last longer than a lot of the other store bought (aka "cheaper") bats. I'm very satisfied with my purchase and look forward to an entire season with my M-10. At 47 years old, I'm not looking for the LONG BALL anymore....but it would seem much more possible with this bat in my paws! I know I'll be hitting it hard, and my average will hopefully show it! I'm gonna wear the gaps out with this stick! Thanks McDougall!!
Bought this bat for my son for his summer wooden bat college league, so this is his review. Best feeling wood bat I ever had. It is well balanced and swings very similar to a -3 metal bat even though it is heavier. Has a very unique sound from other wood bats and can have trust in it that it will not break. Also the bat looks awesome. Worth the extra money for the 5 month warranty and the ability to repair the bat beyond the warranty period. Will definitely spread the word about this bat.
Overall a great feel and great performance in my new M-10 bat. Lively sweet spot and has more pop than any other bat that I have tried
This bat is solid, ball comes off of the barrel with high velocity when ball hits sweet spot. One of the better feeling composite bats I have hit with for sure if not the best
I've used countless wood bats in my years of playing ball. Having owned two MacDougall bats, the latest one is by far the most durable. The new improved design not only looks better, but feels better after the first swing. I won't be spending money on cheap bats ever again.
My son really likes the way it's balanced. Swings it with confidence.
I hit with my M-10 for the first time in a high school game yesterday and it's the best wood bat I've swung. Solid sweet spot and great balance through the swing. Had a bases clearing triple. Great bat!
Love this bat! Usually just use wood bats for batting practice, but this one is worth a shot in a game.
I've just recently received my PowerWood M-10 bat and have only used it in 2 games. The ball jumps off this bat like no other wood bat I've ever swung. It is well balanced and and feels great in my hands. All I can further say is I can't wait for my next games so I can swing this awesome bat again...
My son LOVES this bat. It has lots of pop, is pretty evenly weighted and is very comfortable in the hands. It is little more expensive than it's competitors, but the extra durability from the style of construction makes it worth the few extra dollars. The finish is pretty durable as well. Some of his other bats that have been used the same amount look like old road warriors while the M-10 still looks pretty fresh! I heartily recommend it!
Great feel, even off the handle. Very solid off the barrel
When I first got it it seemed like a piece of art, after use it felt very balanced and a great sweet spot especially for it's length
Best Bat I have seen!
Short and sweet...this bat has amazing "pop" and durability. MacDougall Bats: Cutting edge technology and great customer service!
Simply put, The best bat, customer service, and warranty available
I was extremely impressed with the way the entire transaction took place. The original bat my son ordered was not the correct choice. Mr. MacDougall handled the exchange process personally. My son loves his bat and I love the company and what they offer.
Mr. Joseph Spadafino
Bat has great pop to it. I love the handle. It's thicker which gives you a little more solid contact if you get jammed, but it doesn't feel like you are swinging a tree trunk.
I got the power wood M-12 and I have loved it since I got it! I love the looks and I love how it feels to swing the bat. If you want a MacDougall I suggest getting a cheater wood bat first if your switching from metal because it will be a easier switch from wood to wood the it would be metal to wood.
This bat feels super balanced, but still has a very long barrel! Unbreakable, hit one on the handle and it is still here! Man, just yesterday I hit a walk off double line drive to the fence with this bat! This bat is the best wooden bat I have ever used! Buy thid bat if you need a good one. Plus, the pop is amazing, and this bat looks amazing too!
First at bat was a line drive double over third baseman into left field. So far so good
I purchased the Power Wood M10 for my 15 year old son. He has used nothing but wood bats for the last 2 years. With the first pop of the Power Wood " Dad this is the best bat I have ever used"
His confidence in the box has never been higher.
Thank you for a great product!
My son loves this bat! He's 6'1" and 160lbs and is hitting balls 370' + with these bats in bp. Big sweet spot and solid bat! Only wish they had a red one. ;-)
He has only used it for batting practice so far, but he loves the feel (balance) and pop of the M-10. He is looking forward to training with it this off-season and using it in games next season.
Beautiful bat, the most pop out of all other wood bats, and it feels fantastic just holding I love it so much it's my favorite bat I've ever owned
Great looking bat with lots of POP!!! The last M-10 bat we bought is 3years old and still going, just decided to retire it as a BP bat and use this one for the games. Excellent quality.
When we received it I was hesitant to use it because it looked more like a piece of art. Haven't used it in a game yet, but because of the warranty it has had plenty of bp use and seems to have alot of pop and swings nicely.
Bought my first one in 2011 at the trade show at Temp Diablo. It broke this season. The replacement is doing fine. Over the years I have swung everything. I don't think anything compares to your bat. I put a Lizard Skin grip on it, and so far it is holding up well
I bought M-10 model last August and I love it. The handle on it split due to a manufacturing defect, but John was very quick to make sure I had a new one in my hands. The company works great with customers and provides a quality product.
.....I got jammed and the ball still went to the warning track and the bat was fine. It is balanced good too and has a lot of pop
I first used the "Doogie" last summer in the playoffs of the West Coast League (summer collegiate). I couldn't believe the feel, balance and pop. The quality and durability is the best. Thanks for the great support and making a quality wood bat here in the Northwest.
I purchased an M-10 about 3 weeks ago and I as well as my managers absolutely LOVE they bat, EVERYTHING ABOUT IT, the sound, the pop, the looks. Today I went 3 for 4 with a line drive double off the 335 wall in left field.
John MacDougall has done the impossible. He has created a wood bat with the sweet spot, pop and carry of a metal bat. Most of our team put down their bats and used the PowerWood during the recent MSBL World Series and our 9-0 record speaks for itself.
...We had a total advantage over the other teams. These are the best wood bats on the market.
Glenn and Mike (3n2 Rangers) neglected to mention is that in nine games, with nine guys swinging MacDougalls, not a nick on one of them. Thanks John, the 3n2 Rangers are unequivocal fans!
Great bat. I highly recommend getting this bat. very strong and durable. The ball jumps of the bat. My first homerun this year was gone as soon as I hit it, the catcher from the other team noticed and asked about my bat. Same with other teams so hopefully I get some business for you guys from Northwest Minnesota. Thanks again. Chanc Keefe Thief River Falls Amateur Baseball Player/Manager
MacDougall & Sons has created the perfect Wood bat, you did it the way it needed to be done and they are perfect. This bat should replace metal and composite bats at all levels bringing the game back to its roots with the infusion of technology and capability. My son loves his bat, it has great pop, makes the perfect sound and obviously won't break, the Pros should use it too, broken bats are too common and dangerous. LOVE the velour bag it comes in too, nice touch!
Best bat I ever owned. I played all season long last year with this bat using it for practice and games. This after a season where I went through six bats, including a composite. After the season was over, I decided to keep using it for my cage bat. Every week for six months I've gone in and hit 150 80mph pitches and the thing just keeps trucking. It is virtually unbreakable, the ball just explodes off the barrel (and bloops the hell out of jam shots) and it looks amazing. Sorry, 2013, but I got a 2012 sapelle one and its a piece of art as well as a great bat. People constantly ask about it. Also, John's customer service when I was trying to decide which one to get was absolutely the best ever. If I needed to, I'd buy all my bats from MacDougall. But the things are so indestructible that may mean one every three years. Ah well. I'll look forward to it at least! Also, it feels way better than hitting a composite bat. You should know that, this feels like hitting a real wood bat, not a graphite stick with a wooden wrapper. Like they say, buy the best, cry once. Its worth every penny.
This bat is truly a step above all the others. It's has tons of pop, is super strong and not to mention it looks great. It swings better than any other bat and the balance is unmatched. Even after tons of abuse the balls still fly off the bat like it was the first time swinging it. No bat compares to it.
I have had my Powerwood for just over a year. When I first used it in a game, an umpire checked it to see if it was legal, because the way the ball was jumping of the bat, and because of its design. I have had numerous people ask me about the bat and where can they get one.
