So I’ve lashed out on a new club after a few years of swinging a “D” branded composite bat. It had decent pop but dull sound. Someone pointed me to the MacD bats and the craftsmanship caught my eye. The reviews and info looked good, so I dropped my $$ down and was not disappointed. Playing in an open, all wood bat league, there’s plenty of dull sounding bats out there.
The MacDougall makes heads turn. Sure, It’s got plenty of power, and that CRACK though........ outfielders are heading for the fence before the ball has cleared the infield...... everyone wants to have a look at it. They admire it, then ask where they can get one..I’m not sure I want too many of the opposition to get one to be honest...... my pitchers may not be happy. 7 games in with it and I’m hitting close to .600. At 48 I don’t run quite as quick as I used to, but I’m not having to with this monster in my hands. Lots of balls going to the outfield grass...... in a hurry!!! Haven’t hit a jack with it yet.....But came very close in my first AB with it. Will consider buying another for my eldest son when he’s stopped growing so fast!,,,,,,
So I have to be honest, I had the bat for about a month and we have nothing but rain in NJ, its brutal. I play in an over 35 league in North Jersey. I did use the M21 five times in the tunnels, soft toss, regular BP, and some live pitching. so far, the bat feels balanced and definitely has some pop. I went back and forth between an Old Hickory and the Powerwood. I loved my Old Hickory but John and the family, the way the bats are made had me intrigued...Right now, I couldn't be happier with my Powerwood. A five month break warranty says alot about this company. Plus the break fix option seems to be cool. Logically it makes sense. Thanks John. I will post another review after a few games.
I'm very happy with it. It looks great and has lots of pop. I'll be getting a second one for next season
This bat has a sweet sound and an excellent feel. My players love this bat and are working harder to make the top of the roster to be the first in the game to use it. I'm glad that I made the purchase.
My son has literally used about every metal and wood bat invented.......the M-21 is by far the best he has ever put in his hands.
The craftsmanship jumps out at you.......more like fine piece of furniture than a "bat". This translates into the performance of the bat clearly.
