THE SAME THING THAT MAKES THIS BAT TOUGHER ALSO GIVES IT MORE POP AWAY FROM THE SWEET SPOT. AND LET'S FACE IT, THAT'S WHERE WE CONNECT MOST OF THE TIME, EH?
WE FUSED BABE RUTH'S HICKORY WITH HARMON KILLEBREW'S TANOAK TO CREATE THE BEST WOOD BAT YOU WILL EVER SWING. PERIOD.

I had been eyeing one of these for the past year. With only a couple games to go this season I finally ordered a 34" B-52. My only regret is not ordering it sooner. It is such a beautiful bat that I felt it deserved to be displayed on a wall rather than smash baseballs with it, until I smashed some baseballs with it. The sound and the pop of this bat, even on mishits, is the real art. It's only been a few weeks, but it's everything I wanted and more than I expected. Bring on the playoffs!!! Thank-you.
I recently purchased the Fungomatic fungo bat. As someone who has coached, and with 4 boys who play under 16, I have tried every fungo made. Its 35" length is ideal for infield and outfield practice. The balance and slightly thicker handle is like no other fungo I have used - extremely solid. I recommend this to anyone as a practice tool, not just coaches. I think I just bought my last fungo...
My son loves the bat! The finish is fantastic and the sound off the barrel is a solid crack! In his 5th at bat using the B 52 he put one over the right field fence approx. 375'. Nice
Yes, bats are expensive, with that in mind, this is the best wood bat I have ever purchased, I wish these had been available when I was playing baseball. It’s value lies in its clever design, the wedges of lamination create incredible strength, It would be pretty difficult to break this bat! It is also heavier than most other softball bats, a real plus. I highly recommend it. Get one, you won’t be sorry.
Tonight the ball was sailing off the fence. People using the bat love it, calling it sweetness. Some were thinking of buying one for themselves; they even took pictures of the bat.
My son has literally used about every metal and wood bat invented.......the M-21 is by far the best he has ever put in his hands.
The craftsmanship jumps out at you.......more like fine piece of furniture than a "bat". This translates into the performance of the bat clearly.
As a former Professional Baseball player , I have used just about every wood bat on the market, MacDougall is the best bat hands down. I have bought several bats for my son and also purchased several Fungo's for former teammates and coaches . The craftsmanship and quality are amazing , to a point that the bat is so Beautiful you don't want to use it and just hang on a wall to display ! John , Thank you for producing such an Amazing bat !
I have only used the bat in a few games so far this season but it seems to have a lovely clean feel and good pop. I know I am going to have a great season with this bat. It looks cool too! Love the warranty but hope I am not going to have to use it and the bat outlasts the 5 months. Last year I went through two Marucci $150 bats and two $79 bats in the season. Customer service was excellent. Thanks
I bought the Powerwood M-14 for my son (plays 13u) to use in his team's first wood bat tournament. It looks like a work of art and he had solid hits with it all weekend. By the end of the two day tournament, four other boys on the team were swinging it also. One of them hit a homerun with it and one hopped the fence the next time up. Another hit a line drive that landed right in front of the fence. The boys were hitting the ball just as far, if not farther, than they had in the tournaments that allowed composite bats. The sound the bat makes on a solid hit is music to the ears! I highly recommend this bat.
Bought this bat for my son. We purchased it for his summer league. After hitting with it he wanted to use it for his high school season. In all my years I have never seen a wood bat perform like this one. Ball seems to jump off it. The sweet spot seems quite large and no vibration in the hands. Listening to the sound of this bat and watching the way the ball jumps makes this a true winner. Mac Dougall got it right. Top notch produce. I only wish the handle wasn't quite so smooth and finished. Makes it slick with out Lizzard tape or pine tar. Even with that it's a 5 star bat.
This bag has outdone every other one. Won’t break and has more pop than a metal
My son loves it, only bat he will use. First game with it, 2 doubles and a triple. Its great to see that their are still craftsman out there, great bat!
Gotta love this bat. The look of it takes you back to the days of Joe DiMaggio. It took me a few days to get used to the drop 2 weight, but this bat is getting through the zone and crushing balls with an awesome sound. So far it has taken hits and daily use extremely well and it still looks awesome! I have recommended this bat to friends and I can't wait to use it in games in my summer collegiate league! Thanks John for an awesome bat and keep doing great work! Even looks good dirtied with a little Pelican Bat wax!
I play in a 25 and up all wood bat Adult Baseball league in San Diego, CA and I wanted to get some games in before giving this review. I was a little hesitant on purchasing a wood bat for $199, but I can say now it was well worth it. The craftsmanship is exceptional, better than any of the other big bat companies that I have used. Performance is also amazing. The first couple of games I did get jammed twice with a low to mid 80’s fastball that would have broken my other wood bats I used, this one not so much. I was actually very surprised it did not break, it only resulted in a ground out. Connecting with the sweet spot is pure joy. The quality, performance and a great warranty, this is a must buy for players using wood. Highly recommended. I ended up I adding a 0.5mm Lizard Skin grip to the bat.
My son Hayden Moore 2021 class varsity player, absolutely loves his m14 model. He has hit several balls in bp just as far if not further than his bbcor bat. It definitely outperforms his previous wood which was a good bat.
Great pop, easy and fun to swing. Can put balls into the gap and over fielders heads for cutoff drills. The bat head is a little smaller than some cheaper fungos, but don't let that worry ya. Great product.
Just received the bat and was very impressed, I've been a Baum bat user for many years, the bat seem like it had much more spring than a baum bat, I don't know about the durability but I've had a baum bat break on a 65 mile per hour inside pitch before,(I wasn't hitting) I'm looking forward to my season
Love my Fungomatic, feels and looks great. I recommend this to all coaches.
Best weight balance I have ever felt in a swung bat. Absolutely love that! Great feel on contact, pretty much anywhere on the bat. Using it constantly with that five month warranty.
As an added bonus, it looks so cool!
I bought the M-10 for my son who plays in 13U, and he loves it. After 500 swings in the last month, the bat performance is wonderful. The ball really launches off the bat. Great pop. He likes the balance and his swing looks very smooth. My son is excited to play with it in his upcoming wood bat tournament next month.
Solid quality bat, worth every penny.
Couldn't be any happier with my new bat as well as the customer service from John. John actually cares about his customers, evident in his fast replies through communication, answering questions, and no hesitation to help with anything. The B-52 is a sweet bat with great pop and elite craftsmanship. It was so pretty I didn't even want to get it dirty! John also recently repaired my old 6 year old M-21 - and that came back looking brand new! John is great to work with and is doing great things with his company. I will be a life long MacDougall Batmakers customer and will be referring teammates his way. Thanks again John for the amazing repair and refurbish on my old M-21 and the sweet new B-52 with the vulcan grip (that John installed prior to shipment).
Purchased the M21 for my son last summer (2017) the very first pitch he ever swung at in a live game was a 360' bomb that made that familiar sound only a wood bat can and the swing seemed effortless has continued to perform at a level that is truly amazing for wood. Every one on the team uses this bat in the cage during spring indoor practice and i am not exaggerating when i tell you that this bat has well over 2000-3000 hits just this spring . Truly is the HOLY GRAIL of wood bats and has just as much pop if not more than most alloy /composite bats.high school coach cannot believe how durable this bat is.Keep giving us the GOOD (GREAT) WOOD will be back for more HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL.
I recently purchased a M14 for my son who plays high school baseball in New Mexico. NM is one of 6 states that requires its high school teams to use only wood. I was turned on to the MacDougall bat at a hitting camp at the university of NM. My son fell in love with it and since having his own has gained great confidence at the plate the bat not only looks great but performs well. Cant wait for the season to officially start. Truly a great bat with great pop !!!
The bat has great balance and pop!
Don't let your competition know!! OK, to be honest, I guess every competitive ball player should KNOW. This is a great bat!! Hard hitting, pop off this one. Sometimes line drives, lacing directly to outfielders (if I used any other bat, would be a base hit, dropping, lazy, in front of fielders). Am I complaining? NO, absolutely not! Because the ones I hit in the gap, doubles and triples!! So yes, everything I heard about this bat is true. More "sweetspot" coverage (because it is all sweet). A miss is still a hard hit ball. I don't think I'll need to use the 5 month warranty, owned my MacDougall for 3 weeks and so far 7 for 10 in adult Vegas, weekend league play (yes, we play all year round).
Bottom line, I Love It and really don't know if I would buy another brand. I'd rather pay $200 to have a hard hitting, solid bat, then pay $120 4 times in an 18 month period (all relative to how much you play). I have a 2 weekend Vegas tournament coming up in March. I cant wait to drill a few...my only hope, the opossing team players aren't using MacDougalls!!
Bottom line the best wood bat ive ever used period. The B52 is incredibly balanced yet feels perfectly end loaded when you swing. Its hard to describe until you swing it. Ive had others try my bat next to other composite bats and they overwhelmingly think that's the best. Best feel, feels strong anywhere u hit it, and doesn't dent with the seams much at all. Not to mention the craftsmanship alone is well worth the money. I couldn't just get one....i needed two. One for practice one for games. Great product
I gave my son his bat for Christmas, it was hit. He is just now starting up again after fall ball. He has been taking B. P. wIth it. He showed his coach the bat and he said “it’s probably going to crack”. My son fired back “it’s guarenteed for 5 months”. The guy may know how to get youn men into a college program, but he knows very little about laminated wood, haha. My son has a few expensive bats, but the MacDougall is the one he picks up.
I had the chance to hit with a few MacDougall bats last summer, and I was an instant fan. Great feel, really strong and an amazingly smooth sweet spot (360º around the barrel). My wife bought me my own for xmas, and the only downside is that I'll have to ding up the finish once I get back out there next Spring.
Ordered a B52 POWERWOOD.
The bat is a fine tuned weapon for hitters. Exceptional quality and finish.
Explosive pop. Remarkable balance. As a baseball coach, Ive seen players
hit every wood bat on the market, and none compare to MacDougall Bats.
By far the best bat on the market.
Everything that is promised, is delivered. Great bat, great communication, great experience.
Bat has excellent sound to it and great pop and can't wait to to use it in games when the spring season starts. I am looking forward to the durability of the bat and plan to try some of the other MacDougall models in the future. Really a great way to hit with wood with confidence.
Bat swings balanced, great pop, and sounds great. Great looking bat!!!
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again... This is the best bat I’ve ever swung. So much pop! Way to go MacDougalll clan!
My son loves his bat. The ball flies off of this beast and oh that sound!!!!
Luke is loving the balance and power he is getting out of his M14. Only bat he is training with so far this off season.
I wish I took a picture of my sons face when he opened up the package and saw the k3 powerwood for the first time. He has used it several times and really likes it. He says his favorite part is how it feels heavy but swings light. Balls not hit on the sweet spot are landing in the outfield as well. This a well made bat that has way less vibration than alloy bats which transfers more energy to the ball.
I'm 6 for 6 in my last 6 at bats , and what a pop , my team mates are asking what is this MacDougal bat ? I tell them that's the bat baby, but you have to hit the ball first ! Thanks MacDougal , you've help me earn my spot in the line up

It's hard to believe that this hit turned out to be a bases clearing double in the 2012 NLCS!
